Replace Your Thumb Leather
Goatskin is by far the most popular of the leathers we use. It has the advantages of being a bit thicker than the others, and coming in a wide range of colors. However, it is traditionally not used with whalebone or faux whalebone wraps as the thickness of the two combined tends to be thicker than most players prefer. The goatskin we use is Russell’s Oasis, it is fully vegetable tanned and aniline dyed.
Bullfrog is exactly as it sounds…It is a little different and can add an elegant gnarly-ness to the grip. It is also thinner and tougher than goatskin making it appropriate for all wrapping materials, and comes in a variety of colors.
Lizard is a very traditional skin for bow grips. It is historically the leather of choice to compliment whalebone and faux whalebone wraps, and is very regular and consistent. It comes in a limited number of conservative colors.
